The R8 Rover 200 was launched on 11^th October 1989 as a five-door hatchback. The 200 saw the introduction of the new Rover K-Series family of engines. The 214 SEI was fitted with the 1396cc K-Series 16v double overhead camshaft engine with electronic multi-point fuel injection. This Rover had a top speed of 110mph and 0-60 was achieved in an impressive 10.7 seconds. The SEi had half leather trim, alloy wheels, metallic paint, power steering, electric windows and a sunshine roof as standard.

Other specifications included body coloured ‘sports’ bumpers, bodyside mouldings with bright insert, Monochromatic rear lamps, black rear applique, windscreen shade band, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, remote tailgate release, remote fuel filler release, rear-seat headrests, rear centre armrest, and burr walnut fascia insert.

This example was manufactured in 1995, and supplied new through Speeds Rover in Alfreton Derbyshire, being first registered in March 1995. Fitted with the 1396cc engine with a five-speed manual gearbox, the Rover is finished in metallic Nightfire red, with half leather grey interior upholstery. Having only two former keepers, both of whom were from the same family, the 214 SEI has only covered 41,987 (atoc) miles from new.

Accompanied by the book pack which comprises Owners Handbook; Service Book; Driving Controls Booklet; In-Car Entertainment Booklet and original Engine and Security Cards in the Rover Wallet. The Service Book shows twenty-four service stamps, with five Rover entries and the remaining nineteen all from A. F. Tuning in Chesterfield. The most recent service was completed at 37,483 miles. Further supplied with the original radio (which is not fitted to the car); two keys; the original handover document; some past MOT certificates and a current V5C.
