The Pavilion Gardens

Lot 25

Lot 25 - 1948 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith

1948 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith

Estimated at £14,000 - £16,000

Lot details
Registration No: UN-REG
Chassis No: WVA48
Mot Expiry: None

This rare Wraith was imported from California last year by the present owner from a deceased estate. It was originally UK supplied and still bears the registration number WHR 22 which we are sure the new owner will be able to retrieve.
There is a substantial history file and from 1961 it did a fair bit of travelling from Lebanon, Turkey, Italy and then on to Texas and finally to California in the latter part of that decade. In the early 1980's the chassis, running gear, body, interior and mechanics were extensively renovated and there are documents and photos to substantiate this. It has been dry stored for approximately fifteen years and to the owners knowledge it has not been run in that time.
It is rust free and complete, even to the kneeling Spirit of Ecstasy but the woodwork and interior hardware have been removed and will need to be re-fitted and some of the interior has faded. Although this car will need re-commissioning, it must be remembered that it was fully sorted prior to going into storage and therefore could be genuinely described as an easy restoration project - all the hard work has been done.
