In celebration of the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977 Triumph released a special edition based on the standard 750 T140. A silver paint finish with red and blue lining was used on the fuel tank with matching sidepanels and mudguards. The paintwork was complimented by a blue saddle with red beading. The primary drive and timing covers were chrome plated and the wheel rim centres were painted and lined in the traditional manner. Chromium plated headlamp brackets added some extra sparkle to the fork tops and "upside down" Girling rear shock absorbers were fitted, a change that would soon be adopted across the range. The result was an eye catching machine which quickly established itself as a collector's item. 1000 examples were built for the UK market with a further 1000 for the United States and 400 for the rest of the world. Production was split evenly between UK and US specification machines and each machine was supplied with a certificate. The machine sold well in the UK, despite the £150 premium charged, but was slower moving in the States with one suggested reason being that the finish was a little brash for our American cousins!
The one owner from new example offered has never been used and displays only 16 miles on its odometer. It has been stored with a protective coating of grease and is consequently presented in "totally original, near new condition".
PLEASE NOTE: This motorcycle has an expired old-style V5 registration document for XGH119S, but the number is not currently registered with the DVLA.
