Lot details Registration No: HJF 926 Chassis No: B409NY Mot Expiry: Exempt
Introduced in 1946, the MKVI was Bentley's first post-WW2 model. Powered by a 4257cc (later 4566cc) straight-six engine allied to four-speed manual transmission, the newcomer boasted 100mph performance and was typically clad with the factory's understated but stylish 'standard steel saloon' coachwork. Road registered as `HJF 426' on 26th April 1952, chassis B409NY began life in Leicestershire (or so its number plate would imply). Entering the current ownership during 1977, the Bentley is said to have remained in daily use for the next twenty years. Finished in Black over Silver with Beige leather upholstery and Champagne carpets, the MKVI was reportedly treated to a bare metal respray in 2009. Currently SORN'd, it is described by the vendor as follows - bodywork: `excellent', electrical equipment / four-speed manual gearbox: `good', 4566cc engine: `regularly maintained', paintwork: `v. good but slight bubbling on wings' and interior trim: `fair but over 60 years old'.
