Lot details

Carlo Bugatti (Born February 16, 1856 in Milan, Italy - died April 1940 in Molsheim, France) was a notable decorator, architect (indeed he never applied his work into buildings), designer and manufacturer of furniture, models of jewellery, musical instruments. Father of the sculptor and Ettore Bugatti the car manufacturer, he moved in 1910 to Pierrefonds where set up an atelier. From 1914 to 1918 was even nominated major of the village. From then on, he devoted himself entirely to painting.

This very rare chair is the last piece to be sold following the dispersal of an Italian collection. It's offered in good original condition. A rare opportunity to purchase a piece of Museum-grade furniture.
