Manufactured by Fiat from 1955 to 1969, the Fiat 600 was a rear-engine, water-cooled city-car, sold in either two-door fastback sedan or four-door Multipla guises. Measuring only 10 ft 7 inches long, its all-new design was the first unibody and rear-engined Fiat. The total number produced from 1955 to 1969 at the Mirafiori plant in Turin was thought to be around 2.7 million; although many others were built in other countries such as Spain and Argentina under SEAT, Zastava and other brands.
Manufactured in 1965, this 600 D was supplied new to Italy and resided there until being imported into the United Kingdom in 2006, having two subsequent keepers before entering current ownership in 2014. Finished in White; which is thought to be its original colour, the interior is trimmed in Red and Cream. The Fiat shows a recorded mileage of 41,623 kilometers, although this is not warranted.
The Fiat is fitted with its original Tipo 100 straight-four engine, which benefitted from an overhaul in 2019. The starting equipment has been renewed in 2020 and it has also been serviced annually during current ownership. The four-speed manual gearbox receiving a new clutch in 2019. Accompanied by a current V5C, spare key and a small number of past MOTs and invoices.
