The Ascot based Ambassador concern had been established by former Brooklands rider and racer Kaye Don and introduced its first production model in 1947. From the outset the company concentrated on producing Villiers powered lightweights finished to a high standard.
This lovely example is powered by a Villiers 6E engine displacing 197cc coupled to a three speed gearbox housed in a rigid frame with telescopic front forks. It's original owner covered 6,350 miles on the motorcycle between its purchase in 1953 and 1965 when it was laid up, keeping a log of every journey. The vendor acquired the motorcycle in 1998 and undertook its restoration between 2008 and 2009. Currently on Sorn, it is described as being in very good condition in all respects by the vendor and is offered with a Swansea V5C, a dating certificate and the record of its previous journeys.
