Further info:

The original mid-engined two-seater MR2 (it stood for Midship Runabout Two-Seater) was an unexpected offering from Toyota - a manufacturer previously noted for its practical but very conventional family cars. It certainly caused quite a stir when it burst onto the market in 1984 - from its 'origami' styling to its Lotus designed and honed suspension, the newcomer was a welcome breath of fresh air. Lightness complemented by the gutsy DOHC 16-valve 1587cc engine was the main keys to its success. Finished in super Red with black leather interior the UK supplied right-hand drive sale model is one of the later and more desirable Rev 3, T Bar models with facelift rear lights and the more powerful 173bhp engine. Being in Current family ownership from new and with just 72,300 miles the Toyota is offered with full service history (11 stamps), recent new timing belt, three keys and a current MOT certificate into May 2016.
