The Italian Italjet concern was founded in 1966 initially building machines with Triumph engines, however by the seventies production was concentrated on childrens machines, followed in eighties by trials bikes and a range of machines using a 330cc two stroke single. More recently Italjet have concentrated their efforts on the production of sporting scooters with, in many cases, radical styling and excellent performance.
It is not suprising that Italjet were chosen by the Rothmans Williams team to supply them with paddock scooters during the mid ninties. This particular machine was used by Damon Hill during the 1996 season, the year he acheived his dream (and all British motorsport fans)of emulating his father by winning the Formula One World Championship. Described by the vendor as being in very good condition, this unrestricted machine is finished in the Williams -Renault teams Rothmans sponsors livery and is accompanied by documentary proof from Williams confirming its provenance together with a Swansea V5C, an MOT valid until the 1st November 2009 and a road fund licence that expires on the 31st march 2009.
