Donald Healey produced his own cars at Warwick from 1946 to 1954 and most of the early ones were Riley powered with intelligent engineering and were of high quality and amongst the first post war high performance British vehicles available. The 2.4 litre Tickford saloon was produced in very small numbers, we believe only 222 were manufactured in total, from 1950 until 1954 and they were allegedly good for 100mph.
This particular example of this rare two-door sports saloon has been in the same family for the last thirty years and is described as being in very good condition throughout. The bodywork is finished in a lovely tone of grey and has a red interior and it comes with the manual four speed gearbox and what we believe to be the original 2.4 litre four cylinder petrol engine.
This is a rare car, we have not seen one for many years, and being in such good condition with a lovely ownership history we are sure this will be much admired at today's sale.
Please note: This car was described in the catalogue as having a current MOT cetificate but unfortunately it failed when presented on the lower suspension bushes. The full kit is supplied with the car to replace them and this was all it failed on.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
