This fabulous DE27 was built by Hoopers in 1947 to an exacting specification which is all detailed and on file. It appears to be complete and carries a flag standard mounting above the windscreen.
The following information has been provided by the vendor :
"It has chassis number 50002 and body number 9185 . It was completed for Daimler Group Chairman Sir Bernard Docker and was used by him in France . Upon return to the UK , it was handed over to Rossleigh Ltd of Edinburgh who held the Royal Warrant . It was used by the Queen Mother visiting Edinburgh in 1950 with the then, Princess Elizabeth , latterly Queen Elizabeth II. It was used on many other state functions . It was then carrying the registration number SF1. Various letters on file from the Daimler and Lanchester owners club "
We are advised that the engine is barely audible when running. Obviously requiring restoration , but surely a highly rewarding project .
