The vendor acquired 'J400 BBW' ('the best TVR Wedge I could find') in 2012, at which point the indicated mileage was 33,500. He recalls the car was pretty good overall but had some indifferent paintwork, so the decision was taken embark on a restoration: the body was removed and the chassis stripped of all components; the chassis was shot blasted and powder coated by RT Racing - it was in generally good order and no new steel was required; the platform was re-assembled using new bushes, brake pipes, fuel hoses etc. The callipers were professionally overhauled, and replacement Koni dampers, springs, differential bearings and seals, universal joints and fuel tank sender installed; new coolant (silicone) and power steering hoses were fitted; the suspension geometry was all reset by RT racing; the body was repainted by Surface & Design, Blackpool and the carpets and hood replaced by D&C Trim, also of Blackpool; the alloy wheels were professionally stripped, repainted and polished, the bolts rechromed, and new tyres fitted all round. This handsome Deep Metallic Red TVR still registers just 36,000 miles and the car is now available in almost 'as-new' condition complete with a collection of old invoices, MOTs, original handbooks and current MOT to May 11th 2016.
