Registration No: N314 HLB
Chassis No: SDLDCC4P8TE011497
MOT: July 2024
Introduced at the 1992 Motor Show, the Chimaera was intended to be a more practical, user-friendly machine than the formidable Griffith. To this end, it sported a proper boot and a more cosseting interior. Power came from a variety of Rover V8-derived units, though, even the entry-level 4.0 litre was quoted as developing 240bhp/270lbft. The slowest of the range, it was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, 0-100mph in 12.1 seconds and 152mph! Luckily all Chimaeras came with four-wheel disc brakes and a Quaife differential as standard.
First registered on 17th May 1996, this Chimaera is finished in the very handsome Brooklands Green with the complementing Oatmeal interior. Displaying just some 45,000 miles from new and with a mere 2 previous keepers recorded with the DVLA, this example has been the subject of upkeep to maintain the aesthetics and to further improve its usability. ‘N314 HLB’ has previously been the subject of new Brooklands Green paintwork, a new ‘lower panel’ and a new rear window in the Black soft-top. The chassis is understood to have an excellent chassis and outriggers.
Inside, the Oatmeal interior has benefitted from a carpet set and seat refurbishment. Mechanically, along with power steering, the Chimaera has had a later type T5 gearbox installed, a TVR Power radiator with twin fans and a recent battery, not to mention it has power steering. It is MOT’d into July 2024, and is offered with a current V5C.
