The B40 was essentially an enlarged version of BSA's successful unit construction 250 single the C15. The new models capacity was achieved by increasing the models bore from 67mm to 79mm while retaining the 70mm stroke of the C15 to give a capacity of 343cc. In order to cope with the B40's increased performance the brake diameter was increased to 7 inches and the 17 inch wheels of the C15 were replaced with 18 inch items.
This example has formed part of a private collection for a number of years and is offered in complete condition, but requiring restoration. It is fitted with a full, period fairing, top box and carrier and offered with a Buff logbook.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
