Mot Expiry: None

Announced in September 1952, the Bond Minicar Mark C was an attempt by parent company Sharp's Commercials to head off competition from the recently introduced Reliant Regal three-wheeler. Cheaper and more fuel efficient than its rival, the new Bond retained the same basic stressed-skin aluminium bodytub design as its forebears but incorporated a strengthened bulkhead and small opening passenger side door. Visually distinguished by a new grille and dummy front wings - the latter feature freeing up enough room for its steering gear / front-wheel drive unit to move through 180-degrees lock-to-lock - the model was powered by a 197cc Villiers engine and boasted fuel consumption of 85-90mpg. Recognising the need for better passenger comfort, Sharp's equipped the Mark C with vibration damping for its drivetrain and a new rear suspension layout incorporating bonded rubber 'Flexitor' units. Further benefiting from improved weather gear, 'The world's most economical car' (as it was advertised) could even be had with electric start in Deluxe guise. A strong seller, some 6,399 are thought to have been made before the Mark D arrived in May 1956.
Finished in dark blue with red vinyl upholstery, this particular example is variously described by the vendor as being in "poor" (paintwork, interior trim, wheels / tyres), "unknown" (engine, gearbox, electrical equipment) or "average" (chassis, bodywork) condition. In need of extensive restoration, it shows an unwarranted 16,206 miles on its odometer and is offered for sale without documentation.
