By the 1960s the Suzuki name had become known around the world due to its success in Grand Prix racing. The arrival of the T20 Super Six in 1965 caused a great deal of excitement and marked the start of Japanese bikes becoming accepted by the motorcycle enthusiast. Before then it was easy to dismiss them as go to work bikes just to pass your test on until you could afford a 'proper bike'. Suddenly there was now had a genuine 29 BHP, 100 m.p.h. 250 with 6 gears (hence the Super 6), 12-volt electrics, Posiforce engine lubrication and a full-width aluminium twin leading shoe front brake. The bike was an immediate success in production racing and to this day it still dominates 250cc events such as the Classic MGP. As proof of its impact it won the prestigious Motorcycle News machine of the year title in 1966 and 1967, the first Japanese bike to do so.

This nicely restored example is the TC250 variant made specifically for the American market. Known as the TC250 X-6 it is essentially a T20 with upswept exhaust and a few other modifications to allow room. It has undergone an authentic restoration keeping as close to the original as possible, even down to the rare Silver coloured control cables and thin handlebar grips. Originally sold in the USA it comes with a VJMC dating letter and is fully UK road registered on a V5C.
