Lot 13 - Sinclair C5

Sinclair C5

Sold for £405

(including buyers premium)

Lot details

Launched in January 1985, the C5 was Clive Sinclair's project which he financed by selling some of his shares in Sinclair Research for around £12 million. Although a huge amount of publicity surrounded the C5, the demand for vehicles was lower than anticipated and prices were dropped in the summer and then again in September of the launch year. When Sinclair Vehicles finally closed, the remaining 4,500 complete C5's were sold to a company in Liverpool who began to sell them at £699 plus VAT, more than the original release price!
Entered from a private museum collection, this particular example is said to be in good working order throughout and comes with battery, battery charger and the original paperwork when supplied new.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately the vendor is unable to locate the battery and charger for this C5, but should they be found they will be forwarded on to the buyer.
