  • V5C for use on UK roads.

Many regard the SX200 to be the finest scooter Innocenti produced, and possibly regarded as the best scooter ever made. The SX range retained most styling features of the TV 175/200 Series III which preceded it. The bodywork, however, was more angular and streamlined than that of the preceding Li models. Like the TV Series III, the headset housed a keyed ignition/light switch in the space that the standard Li had a simple kill switch. The SX200 had improved performance and gearing over the previous TV200 models. The SX is the quintessential Lambretta, they are extremely prized by collectors and the SX200 with its own uniquely styled panels and powerful motor is the absolute top of the scooter tree.

This very late production 1968 trophy winner has correct numbers and has been fastidiously maintained annually by Get Smart Scooters since the importation and restoration by Armandos Scooters, Sheffield, in 1996. The vendor, with this scooter, was a founder member of The Bristol Mod Scooter Club, widely known and respected on the ‘Mod’ scooter scene. The vendor has had the scooter for 26 years and is the only British owner. Being used regularly and serviced every year, it was converted to 12 volt electrics. Reliable and starting easily, the paintwork still looks fresh and is adorned with over £2000 of accessories. These include an outrigger exhaust, stadium mirrors, various spotlights (Lucas, Miller and Milremo), racks, crash bars and various embellishers. Many of the lights work from the lighting system and the auxiliary battery, which charges off the engine, is located in the under-seat toolbox. All keys for both toolboxes, steering lock and ignition are present.

In 2001, the vendor and this SX200 featured in the ITV television programme ‘Pulling Power’, which focussed on the activities of The Bristol Mod Club. She also won ‘Hippest Transport’ the overall winner at the 1999 New Untouchable Mod Weekender on the Isle of Wight. The trophy is included in the sale. The vendor, a dedicated ‘Mod’ scooterist, has decided to reduce his collection. Our consultant was able to see this scooter in full running order at the time of consignment. A rare opportunity to obtain and enjoy a sought-after SX200 with unique styling and in excellent condition.
