E.M.F. stands for Everitt-Metzger-Flanders Company of Detroit, Michigan and they strated the business in 1908 but did not produce their first car until 1910. They soon became involved with Studebaker who took the company over in 1912 and so really they only produced cars for two years. Their advertising blurb stated '4mph to 55mph in direct drive' but very few cars were produced.
Photographed in Giel Garlo's encyclopaedia this very early 1910 example is in right hand drive format and the previous owner, a Mr H. Hamilton, died whilst restoring it after he had found it in France. The present owner has completed the restoration and it is largely original and VCC dated and carries an FIVA identity card. It has been rallied many times with the Veteran Car Club and it is only for sale today due to the advancing years of the present owner and although he says it could be improved with an electric starter a quarter pull on the handle normally works more than adequately.
This lovely car, which is in excellent condition throughout, comes complete with an instruction book and much literature in the history file and is we believe is the only one of its kind in the UK.
All successful bids must be paid in full by midday the day after the auction at the latest.
