The 1961 "Heartbeat" Francis Barnett Falcon 87

H&H Classics are offering the motorcycle that was the star of the TV police drama HEARTBEAT in the 1960’s. The Francis Barnett 198 bike is estimated to sell for £3,500 to £5,000 at the H&H Motorcycle Museum sale on July 26^th. The bike is offered with Nick Berry’s full uniform.  

Set in the North Riding of Yorkshire it was based on the ‘Constable’ series of novels written by ex-policeman, Peter N. Walker using the pseudonym Nicholas Rea. It was broadcast on ITV in 18 series from 1992 to 2010.

Heartbeat proved popular from the beginning, when early series consistently drew over 10 million viewers and a peak of 13.82m. The series was filmed in the real Yorkshire village of Goathland which was the fictional beat of Aidensfield.

Originally conceived as a vehicle for Nick Berry, on whom early series centred, the show saw many characters come and go over the years.
