H&H unveils details of its 30th anniversary celebrations

  • 30th anniversary sale to be held on September 20
  • Packed programme of entertainment to run throughout the day alongside the classic, collector and performance car auction
  • Range of special 30th celebration incentives for both buyers and sellers at the sale

Classic car enthusiasts attending H&H Classics’ next sale on September 20 at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, can expect to be entertained with a unique, packed programme of entertainment throughout the day. The events which will run alongside the company’s most important classic, collector and performance car auction of the year, are being organised in celebration of the firm’s 30th anniversary, making it the longest continually trading auction house in UK and Europe.

“2023 is an important milestone and a very proud year for all of us here at H&H as it marks 30 years since we began trading,” explains Colette McKay, managing director at H&H Classics. “During that time, not only has the industry changed beyond recognition, but so has H&H. From the introduction of online auctions alongside our traditional events, through to our transition to an Employee Owned Trust, it’s been an amazing journey and we’re looking forward to celebrating this with all of our guests at Duxford.”

During its 30-year history, H&H has achieved numerous world record prices for classic motorcycles, cars, and competition cars such as a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB, 1968 Lotus 49B, 1996 Subaru Impreza WRC, as well as royal cars including Queen Elizabeth II’s Daimler, Prince Phillip’s Lagonda and Princess Anne’s Bentley.

Such pedigree is reflected in the catalogue for September’s sale which is already shaping up with several highly-desirable classics including a 1927 Bentley 3/4½-Litre Tourer, estimated between £180,000 - £220,000, a 1928 Bentley 4.5 Litre ‘Le Mans’ Style Tourer, estimated between £380,000 - £450,000, and a 1949 Aston Martin 2/2.6-Litre Sports ‘DB1’, estimated between £100,000 - £140,000.

Alongside the classic, collector and performance car sale, guests will be able to enjoy a drinks and canape reception, listen to special guest speakers from the wider automotive world and relax to the sounds of live music.

Of course, for those either selling or looking to buy a car at the sale, there are also a host of other 30th celebration rewards. Sellers entering a vehicle into the sale will be able to benefit from a reduced entry fee of just £30 and will pay just 3% sellers’ commission. Meanwhile those successfully bidding on one of the lots on offer will be presented with a special 30th celebration gift hamper.

“Our 30th anniversary sale is set to be a fantastic celebration, not only of H&H, but also the world of classic and collector cars. I look forward to welcoming everyone on the day to join the festivities,” adds McKay.
