  • Six appeal…desirable Ducati’s from a private collection, including limited editions, up for auction
  • The Italian motorbikes will go under the hammer on Wednesday 30th October at the National Motorcycle Museum
  • Lots being auctioned by H&H Classics include a 2002 Ben Bostrom Replica and a 1999 Carl Fogarty Replica

Six classic Ducati motorcycles from one private collection, including low mileage, limited edition and replica models, are set to find new homes.

The desirable models are being auctioned by H&H Classics at its classic motorcycle and vintage scooter auction on Wednesday 30th October at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

Mike Davis, motorcycle specialist at H&H Classics, said: “It’s not often that we have such a remarkable selection of motorcycles from one collection, so it’s very exciting to offer these six Ducati’s for auction.”

The newest on offer is a limited edition 2002 998S Ben Bostrom Replica, number 70 of 155  produced for  the UK. It was built to commemorate the success of Ben Bostrom in WSBK, is in excellent condition and as close to ‘original, as it left the factory’. It is estimated at £15,000-£17,000.

Mike added: “This 2002 replica is a stunning example and has certainly been well cared for. Just 155 were made for the UK, and the same number for the US market, reflecting the race number on Ben Bostrom’s race bikes.”

Just three  years younger is a 1999 916 SPS Carl Fogarty Replica complete with ‘V2 FGY’ number plate which is estimated to fetch between £13,000-£15,000. It shows just 5,821 miles and is number 98 of 202 produced.

The year 1997 is represented in the auction by a MkV 900 Superlight, again a limited edition being number 44 of only 309 produced. It also has a low mileage, just slightly over 10,000 miles from new and is offered with a good service history. It is estimated at £4,500-£5,500.

Low milage is also the order of the day for a 1995 748 Biposto displaying just 4,601 miles on the clock. Estimated to fetch between £4,000-£5,000, it is very well presented and has been thoroughly looked after.

Stepping back to 1993, Ducati fans can also bid on a limited edition 888 SP5, number 153 of 500 produced. It is offered with model-specific number plate ‘K888 TRC’. It shows just under 5,000 miles from new and is presented in a lovely condition. It is estimated at £14,000-£16,000.

Last but by no means least is an 851 from 1990, the first year of production for this particular model. Estimated at £5,000-£7,000, it is offered in its distinctive white frame and is in very original condition.

All lots in the sale are available to view from midday on Tuesday 29th October, and again from 9am the following day of the sale which commences at 1pm. Fans, collectors and enthusiasts wishing to bid on any of the Ducati’s, or any of the other lots, can do so on the day in person, via online or telephone bidding, or by leaving a commission bid.
