MOT: June 2021
Motor Car Location: Cheshire
This charming Herald was supplied to Mrs Dorothy Therin of Southend on Sea in December 1964 by Essex Car Sales, Westcliff on Sea who were an official dealer for Standard Triumph and Rover cars. This is evidenced by the original bill of sale showing a purchase price of £622 less a part exchange allowance on her Ford Classic 939 BXU. A file of paperwork is present including all the insurance certificates up until 1989 when a letter from the then DVLC requesting a Medical certificate to continue driving. As no further certificates post this date appear, we may conclude that 1989 was the last year that Mrs Therin used the car. A change of ownership in 1992 would indicate that this was possibly the year of the passing of Mrs Therin.
The herald is a very usable classic that offers adequate performance and practicality whilst being easy to maintain with a readily available supply of service items. CHJ 214B is on the button and ready for the Motoring season and an ideal distraction from the challenges of the current times.
