During 1967 Moto Guzzi unveiled the first of their "big block" vee twin roadsters to the world. Typed the V7 700cc the new machine was obviously aimed at the important American market. Equipped for touring it featured well valanced mudguards, a large fuel tank and plush seating. The engine obviously had sporting potential and during 1971 a new machine, the V7 Sport was announced. The shaft driven vee twin displaced 748cc and was housed in a new compact frame developed under the guidance of Lino Tonti, Moto Guzzi's newly installed chief engineer. This combination of engine and frame was to form the basis for the whole of Moto Guzzi's large capacity production through the following two decades.
The T series machines were introduced during 1974 as replacements for the the V700/750 series. Aimed at the sport/touring market they employed a less radical riding position than their sporting siblings. The 844cc version of the vee twin engine offered a claimed 59bhp at 6800 rpm, sufficient to propel the machine to a claimed maximum speed of 182km/h. Early examples were equipped with a single front disc, quickly uprated to twin front discs complimented by a rear drum, this set up in turn being replaced by Guzzi's linked three disc set up on the T3 models.
The example offered dating from 1974 features the twin front disc/drum rear combination. Finished in yellow and black it is equipped with a number of extras including a starter motor cover, screen, megaphone silencers and a single seat and is offered with an original owners manual together with Spanish documentation.
