Porsche introduced the 911 to an unsuspecting public in 1963 and even though they had made many friends with the 356 it is difficult to imagine that even the most ardent Porsche supporter would have thought that this icon would still be being produced today.
The 911 'S' was produced with both 2.4 litre and 2.7 litre engines and this particular example has the original, larger and more desirable 'S' unit which developed 210bhp and the car is currently tested until September next year. It is described as being in good condition throughout and has had a significant amount of body restoration recently including the fitment of new wings and in 1994 the engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt.
Early 911's are highly desirable and this particular one, which has completed a mere 14,700 miles since it was restored, is offered for sale today entirely without reserve.
