The Flying Twelve followed the 12hp and had the pseudo streamline of the standard flying line. Its side-controlled inline four-cylinder engine with a 1,609cc displacement came from its predecessor. The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a synchronized three-speed gearbox. In 1940, production was stopped due to the escalation of the second world war but manufacturing resumed in 1945, with a 2-door convertible joining the model range alongside the sedan. In 1948, the Twelve ceased production and was removed from the model range.

Manufactured in 1947, chassis number ‘DD7128’ was registered new in the United Kingdom on the 5th of September that year. Finished in Grey with Dark Blue interior upholstery, the Twelve was understood to have been retained in first ownership until 1970, before passing through four subsequent owners through the early 1970s remained with him until passing to its current keeper in the 1975. The Standard was placed into garage storage in the 1980s, remaining in the same garage for the subsequent four decades, until being recently unearthed following the passing of the late vendor. Now requiring fully restoring, but is notably complete. Offered as an exciting prospect, coming to the market for the first time in five decades, as a genuine ‘garage find’ and without reserve. Accompanied by the green ‘buff’ logbook and V5 document.
