Lot 36

1983 Rolls-Royce Camargue 'Beau Rivage'

Estimated at £42,000 - £48,000

Lot details
Registration No: EU-Reg
Chassis No: SCAYJ0007CCX05498
Mot Expiry: None

This Rolls-Royce Camargue Beau Rivage ("Beautiful Shore") was commissioned and built by Hooper and Co for their stand at the 1983 Geneva Motor Show and is reputed to have been sold within two hours of being displayed to the public. We are informed by the vendor that this one of a kind example was the most expensive vehicle of its time with many bespoke options including re-designed front bumper, unique centre console, Sony television screen, video player built into the rear parcel shelf, drinks refrigerator, electric sunroof, colour coded windscreen wipers, colour coded front lamp surrounds and pin stripes to the hub caps.
The car is finished in two tone Magnolia (lower) and Walnut (upper) with contrasting Nuella Tan leather with Beige headlining complemented by Deep Fawn carpets.
We understand this unique left-hand drive example has enjoyed just one owner from new and is accompanied by a comprehensive documented build and history file which includes the original sales invoice and warranty cards, original receipts, handbooks, manuals and keys. The vehicle was stored and maintained in Geneva Switzerland from 1983 until March 1990 when it was moved to the owner's villa in the Cote D'azur south of France.
Now registering some 27,000 miles (approx. 44,000km), it is currently EU registered (a French registration document is on file), the vendor describing the bodywork and paintwork as original, whilst the interior shows only minimal wear to the driver's seat.
Representing a rare opportunity to acquire both a piece of Rolls-Royce history and an interesting example of the coachbuilder's art, it is surely worthy of close inspection.

PLEASE NOTE: A copy of the original sales invoice accompanies this vehicle and not the original document as stated in the catalogue description.
